1998 Ingrid Aria, E-RYT began practicing yoga after finding Sivananda’s Companion Guide to Yoga on the shelf at Barnes & Noble, Brooklyn. This exercise spoke to her:  unashamed movement, mindful breathing, and the simplicity of “me, the mat & my bare feet.”

2009 Ingrid enrolled in her first 200 hour yoga teacher training, focusing on vinyasa yoga.

2010 In addition to working in yoga studios and gyms in New York City, she brought yoga to communities she was passionate to get involved with: women living in highly isolated neighborhoods and teenage girls at-risk.

2013 Ingrid began studying with Rachel Krentzman PT, E-RYT2000 in her 100 hour Happy Back & 200 hour mentorship programs. She focused her studies on therapeutic yoga for back care and stress reduction / trauma relief.

2016 Ingrid opened The Yoga Homeschool, a Yoga Alliance registered yoga school, that offers 200-hour certified yoga teacher trainings, group classes & 1-on-1 sessions. The motto: Mindful movement for more enjoyable living, speaks to the multiple ways we can benefit from better understanding our personal anatomies & habits.

Ingrid began a 9 month in-depth anatomy course taught by Leslie Kaminoff & Amy Matthews, formerly of The Breathing Project.

Ingrid began certification for  teaching TRE™, an excellent modailty to immediately release stored tension and stress from the body.

2017 Ingrid studied with Lauren Ohayon & received certification to teach Restore Your Core, an excellent approach to restoring function to the entire body, specifically core & pelvic floor muscles.


Ingrid Aria has been privileged to teach a wide range of students from ALL backgrounds. Your yoga experience with her is one where both safety and effectiveness are prioritized. The yoga is thoughtfully adapted to meet your individual needs, abilities & desired outcomes.
